WEARING MEMORIES PROJECT LEGAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (“FIT”) is hosting an exhibition called Fashion Unraveled, which seeks to examine the concepts of memory, wear, and imperfection in clothing (“Exhibition”). In connection with the exhibition, FIT is inviting its community to submit images, text and/or other original content for potential use in the exhibition. In connection with my submission(s), I hereby agree as follows:
I hereby grant FIT a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, and irrevocable license to use, publish, and reproduce all images, text or other content I submit in connection with the Exhibition (“Work”), in whole or in part, in any medium in connection with the Exhibition. I further authorize FIT to edit, duplicate, use, archive, broadcast, display, publish, reproduce, or otherwise lawfully distribute (via existing and future technologies) my Work, in whole or in part, and in any format for any purpose within FIT’s mission, including communications, advertising, and promotional purposes related to FIT’s mission. I understand that FIT is not required to provide me notice of its use of my Work, and I waive any right to inspect or approve such uses. I also authorize FIT to use, publish, and reproduce my name, likeness, and biographical information in connection with my Work.
I understand that consistent with the above, I shall retain intellectual property ownership of my Work and my Work shall not be deemed a “work-for-hire” (as that term is defined by United States copyright law). I further certify that my Work is my original work and that, if applicable, I have properly cited to the works of others and obtained appropriate permissions to use the works of others.
I understand that FIT will not pay me for my Work or for giving this consent. I acknowledge that I am not required to provide this consent by virtue of my status as an employee, student, or any other relationship or lack thereof with FIT. I understand that FIT has no obligation to use or distribute my Work in the Exhibition.
To the extent I am providing my social media handles below, I authorize FIT to tag me in any social media posts or comments relating to the Exhibition. I understand that FIT has no obligation to use my social media handles or to tag me in any comments or posts.
