A review into Waterworks Road is needed! |
Waterworks Road has been identified as one of the top five dangerous roads in Queensland.
This is the main arterial road for the western suburbs carrying an estimated 35,000 cars each day.
Without a substantial upgrade in over 20 years, coupled with an increase in population, the opening of additional suburbs (eg Upper Kedron) and changing resident needs and behaviours (for example more of us use public and active transport to move around), a review into Waterworks Road is required.
I support our State MP Jonty Bush's call for Brisbane City Council to undertake an urgent review into Waterworks Road. This review should consider population growth and behaviour trends and consider comprehensive active and public transport options for the safe commute of all.
