Thank you for agreeing to participate in the soft launch of Okotoks' new water meter consumer portal. Now that you have had the new meter installed in your household, you are ready to access the online portal and sign-up online for an account.  Send us your feedback on the registration process and portal experience by filling out this form below:
How to sign up for an account & access the online consumer portal:

Open up the online consumer portal (https://my-oktks.sensus-analytics.ca/login.html#/signin) to launch the portal and/or set up an account.  Click on the 'Need to set up an account?' button shown on the image below.
You will be directed to the page shown below. Enter your email address, click the blue 'Get Started' button.

An email will be sent to you.  Please open up your email browser and open up the email.  Once you have opened up your email, please click on the link provided to launch the portal and set up your account. You will be sent to webpage as shown below. Fill out the required fields and click on the submit button.

*The security token provided on your utility bill is the last billed amount including the decimal but with no dollar sign. (e.g. 236.50 or  ###.##)

What if I forget my password?

Can a Town employee set up the account for me?
No. During the setup process you will be asked to accept certain terms and agreements that the utility customer service representative cannot accept for you.  You will also have to use the mobile device or email to confirm you are the owner of the address or device.
Once you have successfully registered and signed in to the portal, you will have access to your digital water information. As you navigate the portal. Please fill out this questionnaire on your user experience.
  • The questionnaire should take 20 minutes.
  • You’ll perform some tasks and answer questions relating to the portal.
  • No right or wrong answers, we’re testing the portal - not you!

The main dashboard is split into three different sections.
A. Main Header
B. Dashboard
C. Information Boxes


  • A. Main Header: shows your name, address and meter customer number and meter nickname.
  • B. Dashboard: provides quick links to detailed usage details, meter info and your personal settings.
  • C. Information Boxes: this section has separate boxes with information on your personal usage data, alerts, notifications and your personal billing cycle threshold meter.

* 3. Looking through the portal for the first time, how do you feel about the overall look, feel and functionality?

* 4. Now you will find a series of questions to ensure that you are understanding the portal functionality and features. 
  1. Click ‘alert recipients’ on the ‘settings’ dashboard and set up your alert email contacts. Now you are ready to set up alerts and be sent notifications when you have exceeded your personal threshold amount.
  2. Click ‘Meters’ on the dashboard.  Select ‘add alert’ under ‘today’ and try setting a daily usage amount to send you an alert notification when you have reached your preferred daily consumption amount.

* 5. Using the dashboard menu, click on ‘usage details’.  Select the gear symbol to select your preference for usage, rainfall and temperature units. Once you have set your preferences, click on the gear symbol to close the box. 

Navigate by clicking between the 24 hour, 7 days, 30 days and 12 month options and investigate your water use.  Select 24 hours and see how much water you used at 7 AM today.
