Walking Stories

St Columba's Hospice Care's Community Artist is curating a walking guide of routes across Edinburgh and East Lothian that have helped people through times of grief or illness. We would love to hear about the walks you recommend and how they supported you during a difficult time.

Has a route helped you connect with nature, find moments of calm, or discover new interests? By sharing your walking story, you may help someone else find a new path when they need it most.
Your route

Tell us where your route passes through and roughly what distance it is (or if you can share a link or map, even better!)
Perhaps you have photographs you have taken that you are happy to share. If that's the case, please feel free to email these to arts@stcolumbashospice.org.uk
Context

Can you share a little about the circumstances that led you to walking this route and how it has helped you? Perhaps walking has supported your wellbeing as you care for a loved one?
Why this walk?

What is there to see/smell/hear? What should other people look out for if walking this route?
Your details

We may get in touch with you to hear more or clarify your route. Please note that none of your information will be shared without your consent. You may also wish to remain anonymous if your story and route are selected for print.
Thank you for sharing your walking story and route and helping to shape our walking guide.

We are keen to create a resource that comes from the Edinburgh and East Lothian communities and supports fellow community members.

As we gather in the recommended routes and stories, it is possible that we will not be able to include them all in our walking guide, however we are grateful for your contribution.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Isla at: arts@stcolumbashospice.org.uk
