Deadlines and Instructions

APPLICATION DEADLINES:
A. The deadline for part A (current form) is Friday, February 9, 2024, 11:59 PM (PST) to be considered for the spring of that same year. All part A materials including letters of reference and transcripts must be postmarked by this date.

B. The deadline for part B (will be emailed to you) is Monday, February 12, 2024, 11:59 PM (PST) to be considered for the spring of that same year. All part B materials must be submitted on or before this date. Please remember that you will not be able to submit your materials for part B until you have completed part A.

ELIGIBILITY:
Any second year student enrolled in a graduate program in medical illustration accredited by the Association of Medical Illustrators.

JUDGING CRITERIA:
Each application will be judged on academic breadth and depth, quality of artwork, quality of references, and evidence of broad-based interests and accomplishments. The evaluation committee also looks for both successful past performance and the potential for meaningful contributions to the field of biocommunications.

REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS:
A. Part A consists of contact information, transcripts, and two (2) letters of reference. This portion is completed entirely online using the following form.

B. Part B consists of a resume, five (5) portfolio samples, and a short answer section. Once you have completed part A, you will receive an email with instructions for completing and uploading part B.
