Welcome to the 2017 Vermont Cheesemakers Festival Volunteer Page

Thank you for choosing to volunteer at The Vermont Cheesemakers Festival.  We are honored to have you and look forward to a great day.  Here are a few things that you should know:

1.      Please arrive promptly for your shift so that we can provide the same information to all volunteers at the same time.

2.      For the first time this year, if you sign up to work on Saturday for a full day from 10 AM to 4 PM or earlier if the work is completed, we will offer you 2 tickets to the Festival on Sunday which you can enjoy for the entire day.  Duties on Saturday, include setting up tables, filling the festival tote bags, and folding shirts.  We will include lunch and provide beverages all day on Saturday.

3.      Once your volunteer shift is over on Sunday, you are welcome to participate in the festival or leave, if you prefer.  To participate, however, you must get a ticket from the volunteer coordinator.  The ticket will provide you access to the festival, where you will receive a festival tote and a wine glass.  If you sign up for a later volunteer shift, we may ask you for your keys or identification which will be returned to you at the completion of your closing shift.

4.      Please be aware that the same laws apply for drinking age.  When you receive your ticket to the festival, you will be asked to prove your age.  You must be 21 to drink in alcoholic beverages in Vermont.

5.      Volunteers will be asked to park behind the Coach Barn, in the upper field.  Please park prior to starting your shift.

6.      If you are unable to pick up boxes or materials up to 25 pounds, please let us know.  It is not our intention to injure or misuse anyone, most particularly, our volunteers.  We have lots of different jobs that our volunteers can help us to perform.

7.      The shifts are 3 hours long.  Please wear comfortable shoes and depending upon the weather, coats or raingear.  This event is a rain or shine event.

8.      Final jobs and time schedules will be sent you prior to the event.  Once final jobs and time schedules are posted, please contact Tom Bivins, the festival coordinator directly for questions, changes or cancellations.  His email is tom@vtcheese.com.

Thanks so much for volunteering for this event.  It only works if you volunteer!

Tom
