GAC Volunteers
The GAC’s primary objective in the accreditation process is to ensure that educational programs awarded GAC accreditation adequately prepare students to meet the current and anticipated needs of businesses and government organizations for qualified professionals working in the field of project, program, and portfolio management.

Potential Site Team Members will have at least TWO of the following:
- Higher education academic experience in project management, or course development experience in project management, within a GAC-accredited program.
- Academic accreditation experience with another accrediting body, such as serving on a site team.
- Participates in academic accreditation processes at a higher education institution.
Preference is given to those with project management experience within any industry or maintaining a PMP or another project management credential.
Site Team Member Requirements
- Participate in 1-2 visits per year
- Participate on a team
Desired skill sets
Candidates who meet the initial screening requirements will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Has a clear understanding of PMI, its mission, vision, values, and strategic plan
- Has direct experience and skills that will be beneficial to the work
- Able to set a vision, to identify the action steps, and to motivate others to maintain their commitment to the deliverables
- Possess strategic thinking skills
- Able to create and foster an environment for shared understanding of multiple viewpoints and healthy debate
- Possess a basic knowledge and general understanding of different communication styles
- Demonstrate active listening skills (i.e., be able to concentrate on a person’s spoken thoughts and restate them through paraphrasing)
- Converse and read English
