Invitation to Participate

CALLING OUT TO ALL VOLUNTEERS AGED 18 – 35 WHO WANT TO BE INVOLVED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

VFBV is looking for volunteers aged 18 to 35, to join our newly establishing VFBV Youth Network, representing younger volunteers in each District.

By joining your VFBV District Council Youth Panel, you can give young volunteers a greater say in VFBV at every level, build your skills as a volunteer delegate and prepare yourself for future VFBV and CFA leadership roles.

Each District’s Youth Panel will work with the VFBV District Council and send a young delegate to the State Youth Advisory Committee that will work with VFBV’s State Council and Board.

Younger volunteers can have a stronger voice and VFBV will need experienced representatives in the years to come – we’d like you to consider taking up the challenge.

As another exciting step, VFBV’s Youth Network will be designed, rolled out and supported from the start to enable it to be the foundation for a broad Emergency Management sector youth network platform. Young volunteers from other parts of the sector will be actively encouraged to become part of the VFBV Youth Network.  We will encourage them to communicate with and support each other in their shared concerns and ideas.

To help pave the way, you will be supported by VFBV Champions.  These Champions have a broad knowledge of VFBV, they will act not only as guides and mentors to educate our candidates in the workings of VFBV and CFA, but they will also provide a valuable connection to District Councils and State Council.  They will also be sounding boards, a shoulder to lean on, they will give direction and support and continue to encourage our candidates.  They will be committed to furthering the work and input of our candidates.

Do you know anyone in your District that would be a great Champion? Let us know by emailing c.fryer@vfbv.com.au

Your commitment may include quarterly District Council meetings. You will be offered a place on the District Delegate Development Course if you wish to be involved and you will be communicating and networking online with a dedicated Facebook page when developed.
