UPLIFT '26-'27 - Faculty Interest

UPLIFT 2026-2027 - Faculty

The UPLIFT Program provides engineering students a first-time research experience, regardless of their campus location, with the opportunity to learn about engineering research and apply for a Spring [Jan-Apr] semester placement (in-person or virtual) with an affiliated COE faculty member. All engineering students are eligible to apply, including transfer students and those in Boston, NUIn, Oakland, London and New York City.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please complete the below survey:
1.Personal Information
-------------------- Fall 2026: Research Seminars --------------------
During the students' first semester (Sep-Nov 2026), they will will be invited to attend a series of research seminars offered by faculty willing to provide a placement for students in the Spring semester (Jan-Apr 2027). These hybrid seminars will allow all students, including those beginning their NU academic journey at other campus locations, to learn about research at Northeastern. The purpose of your seminar (either delivered live [in-person] or pre-recorded) would be to spotlight your research, the undergraduate students who may already be involved (especially any UPLIFT alumni), and the potential projects, skills and experiences an engineering student could expect in your research lab.
2.Please list your availability to present during Fall 2026:

• Research seminars are 12:00-1:00pm on Tuesdays
• Your presentation should be 20-30 minutes, with extra time for Q&A
• We will confirm your seminar date in late August/early September.
• If you are unable to give a presentation, you may still host UPLIFT student(s) in the Spring.

If on-campus space is a significant issue, we will be offering hybrid / virtual seminars.
