make progress towards becoming a Certified B Corporation (improve score on the full B Impact Assessment, put practices & policies in place to increase our positive impact)

The CLEARER you are in stating what you'd like from the team, the better they will be able to help you.

(Please remember this is a team endeavor-- the students should be working together as a team towards a common set of deliverables to achieve the goal you mentioned in the question above. It's fine for students to take lead on different tasks that best fit their interests & skills, but the 2-5 students working with you should not each have their own “project.”)

Identify a single point person (or two) to serve as primary contact(s) with the student team.

Commit approx. 1-2 hours/week to working with your student consulting team (can be in-person, by phone, or virtually on a platform like FaceTime, Skype, or Zoom).

Participate in person or virtually for each of the key events mentioned above.

Consent to our photographing & filming the live events, and our making the slides and video recordings of the launch, midterm presentations, final presentations, and impact stories publicly available (primarily for outreach & promotion for future BFG Labs and as a resource for participants in future BFG Labs).

Consent to understanding that while we are not able to sign NDAs, the Company Partner Handbook and Syllabus both have sections titled “Respect for Information & Data Shared” stating: We understand & appreciate that you are placing your trust in our students by granting access to the information/data you share on your B Impact Assessment, as well as other information shared while working towards the goals & deliverables you define for the students’ consulting projects this semester.

Due to the interactive & collaborative nature of this program, it’s not possible for our students, faculty, staff, and volunteers to sign nondisclosure agreements (NDAs). However, we want to respect the sensitive nature of the information & data exchanged and do our best to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of confidential and/or proprietary information, beyond the intended use of achieving the goals & deliverables you’ve defined for our work together this semester, as well as supporting the educational mission, contributing to the body of knowledge for future semesters.

Do your best to respond to emails & correspondence from Dr. Joys & the student team within two business days.

Prepare a 3-4 minute "pitch" with a bit about who you are, what your company does, what your goals for working with a student team are (i.e. your response in #12 above), and where you'd like the team to focus (i.e. the deliverables mentioned in #13 above)... while making the case as to why students should want to work with your company (why the project they will be doing with & for you is interesting, important, engaging, etc) to share during our Launch event.

Provide feedback at the end of the term -- both regarding your student team and your overall experience.

Understand that participation is contingent on enough qualified students applying to work with your company.
