1. Transportation Safety Planning Project Survey/Application

The National Indian Justice Center (NIJC) in conjunction with the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians is administering a Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA)-funded project to assist California tribes with transportation safety planning.  The purpose of this survey is to gather information about tribal transportation planning needs and identify those tribes that would like to receive information about or participate in this transportation safety planning project.  Based on the results of the survey, NIJC will tailor workshops, training sessions, and services to assist tribes with transportation planning needs.

For those tribes interested in and ready to begin or update a transportation safety plan, this survey can also serve as an application to participate in the Tribal Transportation Safety Planning project. Tribes that participate in the project will receive training and technical assistance to develop or update their transportation safety plan. Tribes will be selected for participation based on need, level of commitment, and readiness to proceed with transportation safety planning.
