The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) mandates that all students who have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) should also have a Transition Plan by age 16 or when they enter high school, which ever comes earlier. So what should be part of your child's transition plan? And why is such a plan important? Mitzi Proffitt from Parent to Parent of Georgia shares some of the crucial reasons your child needs to have a robust transition plan. She will also walk you through some concrete examples of what can be included in your child's transition plan.
