City of Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus (BBB) is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of, its service on the basis of race, color or national origin, in accordance to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended. In addition to Title VI, BBB also prohibits discrimination based on sex, age, disability, religion, medical condition, marital status, or sexual orientation. BBB further upholds the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) by ensuring quality and equitable treatment for all customers, as well as equal opportunity and access for persons with disabilities.

No person or group of persons will be discriminated against with regard to fares, routing, scheduling or quality of transportation service the BBB furnishes on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion, medical condition, marital status, or sexual orientation.

If you believe you have been discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion, medical condition, marital status, or sexual orientation by BBB, you may file a signed complaint by completing and submitting the Civil Rights & ADA Complaint Form. When submitting the compliant, please explain as clearly as possible what happened and why you believe you were discriminated against. Describe all persons who were involved, and provide the location where the alleged incident occurred. Include the name and contact information of the person(s) who discriminated against you (if known), as well as names and contact information of any witnesses.

BBB investigates complaints received no more than 180 days after the alleged incident.
