Question Title

* 1. Our Puppies START at $3,500.  It is hard to give a precise estimate on each dog, as they are priced based on breed, size, color, confirmation, & pedigree.  The MAJORITY of our pups are between $3,500 & $4,500, but that does not mean that some are less & some are more.  ALL our dogs are rehomed as pets on a strict spay & neuter contract.  If you are not comfortable with this price, please do not fill out an application (unless you're looking for a retired or older puppy).  We put our hearts & souls into these puppies.  We do not cut any corners, financially or otherwise, year round on our dogs & the babies we are raising.  Raising newborn pups with a nurturing heart & hand requires 24-hour a day human intervention.  We do much more than most even responsible breeders when caring for these babies, including plasma & probiotic supplementation, to jumpstart their immune systems that will benefit them for years to come.

Each of our dogs used for breeding is tested for genetic health traits.  There are a few genetic disorders that are prevalent in Shih Tzus.  These are Degenerative Myelopathy (DM); CDDY - CDDY/IVDD Risk; and CDPA - Chondrodysplasia.  Once we started genetic testing we saw how common these traits appear we couldn't look away.  It does complicate our breeding program but we cannot "unlearn" what we know.  All our matings will first be paired for health traits as our primary concern, personality/behavior next, followed by color traits.  We will never breed a male & female that are both carriers of the same worrisome health trait, even if the chance of negatively impacting each embryo is 25%.

We keep all our puppies for a minimum of 10 - 16 weeks, & each will be individually evaluated based on size, independence, & confidence before being able to make their big transition to their new home.  They will all come micro-chipped & we will remain on their microchip registration (this ensures that none of the dogs we are responsible for breeding end up in a shelter-type situation).  Most Shih Tzus will come with their dewclaws removed & all pups with 2+ vaccinations, dewormings are bi-weekly starting at 2 weeks.

Lastly, we allow in-person visits.  We are just as interested in meeting the person/family that is thinking of raising one of our babies as you are interested in meeting your potential future puppy in person before making this huge commitment.  However, we do have security measures set in place in order to be able to open up our home to a stranger.  You must be ok with our security measures & if not, there is not a potential to adopt from us.

In times where we are caring for a newborn litter, or find one of our newborns needing extra human intervention to thrive, we are known to fall behind on reading these applications.  For this reason, please text or call us once your application has been submitted so we can start our conversation.  Our phone number is (949) 410-6040.  We do have available puppies, as well as, a dwindled-down waiting list for people that are looking for a pup in the near future.  Both options would be available to you if we think you'll make a superb pawrent for one (or two) of our babies. :-))

As for the questionnaire, each question requires an answer for it to be submitted to us.  You should have answers to all these questions but if you do not, please write N/A.
