THE LINELIGHT AWARDS™ - North America-Centric Line Dance Awards

Welcome to the first annual LINELIGHT AWARDS!
The United States of America, Canada, and Mexico are often under-represented when it comes to Line Dance Awards. THE LINELIGHT AWARDS aim to change that by providing an opportunity to honor all of the wonderful North American line dancers, choreographers, and instructors. The majority of the categories are North America-centric with a focus on recognizing our (USA), (CAN), and (MEX) line dancers (based on Copperknob location); however, there are still opportunities to nominate/honor our amazing International Instructors and Choreographers, as well. The goal of the LINELIGHT AWARDS is to complement the other fantastic line dance award circuits, such as the Crystal Boot Awards, Line Dance Association Awards, etc. It is time for our North American line dance representatives to step into the linelight!

There are three categories to vote in: People Category, Choreography Category, and Places Category.

**For Phase 1 of the nomination process, each answer is free response and you may nominate as many people, places, and choreographies as you would like in each answer box.

Nominations for Phase 1 close Sunday, April 26th, 2026, 11:59 PM PST. You may only vote once in Phase 1. Phase 2 will begin at the end of May 2026.
People Category

*For the North America categories, the nominees must be from (USA), (CAN), or (MEX) per Copperknob.

*For the International categories, the nominees must be from anywhere outside of (USA), (CAN), (MEX) per Copperknob.

The year to recognize is 2025.

Each answer is free-response - you may nominate as many people as you'd like for each group.

You are not required to answer all questions - you may skip around.
1.People Category: North America - Instructor of the Year
2.People Category: North America - Choreographer of the Year
3.People Category: North America - Male Personality of the Year
4.People Category: North America - Female Personality of the Year
5.People Category: North America - DJ of the Year
6.People Category: North America - Content Creator of the Year
(For any North American line dancer/line dancing group who creates and produces line dance content on any digital platform.)
7.People Category: North America - Protostar of the Year
(For the up-and-comers in the North American line dancing community who are showing high potential and promise in choreography. By definition, a Protostar is an early stage in the evolution of a star!)

*You must include their Name AND Reason for Nomination. Any nominations without a reason will be excluded.*
8.People Category: North America - Hidden Gem of the Year
(For any North American line dancer, instructor, or choreographer who has created a positive, significant impression in the line dancing community, yet remains largely unknown or underappreciated.)
9.People Category: North America - Trailblazer of the Year
(For any North American line dancer who is blazing trails, pioneering positive changes in the line dancing community, being innovative, trying new things, and thinking outside of the box, whether it be in instruction, choreography, social media, etc.)
10.People Category: North America - Luminary of the Year
(For any North American line dancer who is a bright light in the line dancing community -- someone who inspires, influences, and encourages others, someone who embodies positivity and love for line dancing.)
11.People Category: North America - Hall of Fame
(For any North American line dancer, instructor, or choreographer who has achieved exceptional, lasting success and has made significant contributions in the line dancing community.)
12.People Category: International - Instructor of the Year
(For line dance instructors outside of North America.)
13.People Category: International - Choreographer of the Year
(For line dance choreographers outside of North America.)
14.People Category: International - Trailblazer of the Year
(For any International line dancer who is blazing trails, pioneering positive changes in the line dancing community, being innovative, trying new things, and thinking outside of the box, whether it be in instruction, choreography, social media, etc.)
15.People Category: International - Luminary of the Year
(For any International line dancer who is a bright light in the line dancing community -- someone who inspires, influences, and encourages others, someone who embodies positivity and love for line dancing.)
