Seeking your feedback on Residential Tenancy Law Changes

In August the ACT Government announced that it is considering reforms to the law that covers renting a home in the ACT.   With assistance from ACT Shelter, Tenants' Union ACT is seeking your feedback to assist us in responding to the ACT Government’s proposed reforms to the Residential Tenancies ACT 1997 (RTA).

These changes include:

•         removing ‘no cause’ terminations from residential tenancy agreements
•         prescribing minimum standards in residential tenancies.
•         limiting rent bidding
•         introducing a right for a tenant to grow food and to compost.

The Government has produced a detailed discussion paper and its own feedback survey on yoursayconversations/expanding-rights-renters.

By completing our survey, you will be providing us with valuable insight into community views on these important issues.

Please take 10 minutes to complete the following survey by cob Wednesday 13 October.

Thank you,
TUACT
