System Engineer

Location: Multan

Education: Bachelor (4-year) degree in computer science/Computer Engineering and related disciplines.
Experience: 3 – 5 years’ experience of Enterprise IT & Related Systems

Skills / Abilities / Knowledge
· System Administration of Active Directory, DNS, NTP, CA and related services
· System Administration of SharePoint, Exchange, SQL, Lync, TMG, File and FTP Servers.
· Data Center management and administration.
· Knowledge of Virtualized Environments (Hyper V and VMware)
· Working knowledge of Storage Area Network
· Knowledge of website hosting and Advanced DNS Publishing through control panels
· Understanding of best practices being followed in IT industry
· Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
· Problem solving & trouble-shooting skills

Responsibilities:
The System Engineer is responsible for installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of Enterprise IT infrastructure. System Engineer should ensure that system hardware, operating systems and software systems are in optimal health and available.

Operations
· Manage, administer and monitor following IT Services: AD, DNS, Lync, File Server, FTP, Exchange, Microsoft Private Cloud, System Center and related infrastructure.
· Install, configure, test and maintain hardware, operating systems, application software, services and system management tools
· Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
· Provide engineering solutions for various project and operational needs.
· Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
· Contribute to and maintain system standards.
· Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
· Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
· Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Exchange Management:
· Routine monthly patch management of Exchange 2016.
· Perform user mailbox export, deletion and import activity.
Log Management:
· Carry out log management for the assigned servers.
· Consolidate monthly logs as per ISO 27001:2013 ISMS requirement.
· Plan and execute yearly capacity planning activity.
· Plan and execute yearly Disaster recovery drill
· Plan and perform monthly maintenance downtime activity.
Data Center management:
· Manage and administer Data Center
· Carry out preventive maintenance for Data Center facilitation equipment
