Announcing a new way to partner with the School District of Lee County

The School District of Lee County is seeking to strengthen its longstanding ties with community partners and create new ones, especially in regards to mutually-beneficial grant projects.

We are proposing to create a Southwest Florida Education Grants Exchange. The purpose of this exchange is to make it easier to connect school and school district leaders, community agencies, local non-profit organizations, college and university staff and faculty, and local government representatives when working on grant proposals.

In the grants world, every minute counts when organizing planning and grantwriting teams, especially with truly innovative ideas. The Southwest Florida Education Grants Exchange will allow interested people to register their names, organization, and contact information along with information about the kinds of projects they would be willing to consider.

For example, if your organization has special expertise and resources that might be useful in a grant project with the School District, then adding that information to the exchange would allow us to quickly contact you with new opportunities that may arise.

For now, we just want to share information with each other and make it easier for us leverage all of our strengths and knowledge for the benefit of our entire community.

At first, we're going to work via e-mail for the sake of simplicity. We promise not to spam you, of course — instead, our communication with you will be limited to quarterly updates about the School District's grants work and perhaps an occasional invitation to partner with us.

If you like to work with us, we'd love to have you! Just provide as little or as much of the information on the following pages as you like, and we'll welcome you to the Southwest Florida Education Grants Exchange.

How can I get more information?
We'd love to talk to you. Contact Dr. Jeff McCullers, the School District's Director of Grants & Program Development, at JeffFM@leeschools.net or at (239) 337-8115.

Why did I receive this message?
In this first round of building our grants exchange, we collected contact information from community organizations that have worked with our schools in the past, from community organizations which appear to work with children and families in our School District, or community organizations which have leaders or members who have worked with our schools in the past. Our exchange is just now being created, so if you received this in error, please delete this message and forgive us.
