Swampscott Community Life Center Survey

Swampscott is exploring the idea of whether the town needs a recreational facility and
expanded senior center due to growing demand for programming. The Town of
Swampscott is looking to gather input from residents on whether there is both public
interest and need for a facility to meet this growing demand.

To help the Town understand how the public feels, please answer the following
questions.
1.Are you a Swampscott resident?
2.If a new Community Life / Recreation Center were built in Swampscott, which of the following features or programs would you and your household likely use? (Select all that apply below each bold category name)
3.Of the programs or spaces you selected above, which three are the most important?
4.Are you aware that there is no permanent indoor space that can be used by the Swampscott Recreation Department? Note: The use of Clarke School is a temporary agreement for one year, and ends in the fall of 2026
5.Are you aware that the Senior Center has gotten too small to accommodate the demand for their current programs, and consequently has had to turn people away?
6.How important is it to have a permanent center for recreation and expanded senior center needs in Swampscott?
7.If the Town of Swampscott were able to identify sufficient resources through some combination of public funding, private fundraising, and membership fees, how likely would you be to support moving forward with an intergenerational community center design and construction?
8.Why or why not?
9.What age range do you fall in?
10.What is your gender?
11.Open land is relatively scarce in Swampscott. If the Town were to move forward with a new recreation and expanded senior center, it's important to understand what criteria are most important to the public when it comes to site selection.
