North West Slopes and Plains Region Regional Freight Connectivity and Productivity Analysis

The Namoi Councils Joint Organisation through the Moree Plains Shire Council has engaged engineering consultant SMEC Australia to undertake a Regional Freight Connectivity and Productivity Analysis.The analysis will help develop a regional approach to identifying and improving heavy vehicle access across the region. 

The project involves identifying a regional road train network focused on a more efficient, productive and sustainable provision and use of road infrastructure. 

A key aspect of the project is stakeholder engagement with key freight and local industry representatives in order to gain an understanding of region-wide issues relating to the road network and transport links.
