School supports and interventions - Parent and Whānau survey

About us
The Education Evaluation Centre | Te Ihuwaka is a part of the Education Review Office. We publish independent reports about New Zealand’s education system - you can read about our national project work here. We don’t write about individual schools or people.

What is this survey for?
We’re exploring school supports and interventions. Your responses will help us understand school supports and interventions and what might need to change. This survey will ask you about what you think, including what is going well at your child’s school, and what could be better. We will write about what we find out in a report which will be published on our website evidence.ero.govt.nz.

Things to note before you start
  • Doing this survey is voluntary. You can also skip questions or stop the survey whenever you like.
  • Only our research team will see your responses - they won’t be shared with your child’s school or anyone else.
  • We will ask for your child’s school’s name to help us spot patterns (e.g., for different types of schools), but won’t report on individual schools.
  • Your answers will be kept safe and confidential.
  • We might use answers from this survey for projects about other topics in the future.
  • We might use Microsoft Copilot to help in analysis, including identifying themes and patterns in written answers.
  • We use the Official Information Act 1982, Privacy Act 2020, and the Public Records Act 2005 to guide our processes.
  • Taking part in this survey won’t impact on your child’s school’s ERO review process.
