WELCOME

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts invites local merchants/artists to apply to exhibit at Sunday A’Fair, a series of mini-festivals featuring free concerts by Arizona musicians and displays of fine arts and crafts. Sunday A’Fair takes place on Scottsdale Civic Center Park, adjacent to Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Each event draws an audience of nearly 4,000 arts enthusiasts, including area residents and visitors.

SCHEDULE
 
Sunday A’Fair is held on select Sundays from noon - 4 p.m. January through March.

The 2020 dates are:
January 12, 19*, 26 
February 16*, 23 
March 1, 8, 22, 29 

*This event date has a special theme so merchants who align with the theme will have preference. January 19: Indigenous. February 16: Family/Kids & Latin American or Hispanic.

MERCHANT ELIGIBILITY

All media are eligible. The applicant’s work should be of original concept, design and personal execution. Small studio production work under the direct supervision of the applicant is acceptable. Direct supervision requires that the artist oversees production work as it occurs and provides guidance, feedback and assistance. Works displayed must be those of the accepted participants only.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process is ongoing from October 1, 2019 to March 1, 2020. The Sunday A’Fair selection panel meets bi-weekly to determine acceptance into the program. All decisions are final. Applicants will be sent email notification of acceptance/rejection.

FEES

The merchant participation fee for a single booth space for each event is $50. A double booth space is an additional $50. Merchants will be invoiced the Monday prior to the event, and are required to have the booth space paid in full prior to set up.

MARKETING

Scottsdale Arts promotes Sunday A’Fair to its members and the community through its website, emails, social media, press releases and a printed brochure.

SALES TAX

Artists are required to collect and pay the appropriate City of Scottsdale and Arizona sales taxes on all items sold. Each artist must provide a valid sales-tax license prior to participating in Sunday A’Fair. Failure to produce a license may result in immediate dismissal from the event. DISPLAY

Sunday A’Fair participants are required to supply their own display structures. A tent is not required, but the overall display must be professional in appearance. An image of the display is required with the application to determine acceptance and site placement. Booth spaces are approximately 100 square feet, located on the grass and walkways of Scottsdale Civic Center Park. Load-in and load-out are easy, and merchants may drive vehicles to the booth spaces to unload.

LIABILITY

Scottsdale Arts does not assume responsibility for participants’ works while they are on the grounds, and all items must be secured by the artist. Sunday A’Fair may be canceled due to inclement weather; this decision will be made by Sunday A’Fair staff. If canceled, Scottsdale Arts is not responsible for any costs incurred by the participant. In the event of full cancellation, all prepaid fees will be refunded or credited.

These dates are only requests. Merchants will be considered for dates throughout the Sunday A’Fair series, however merchants will not be chosen for all nine (9) days.
