Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) is a form of brief experiential dynamic psychotherapy that has been proven highly effective. ISTDP is a way of relating to clients that mobilizes their will to be well and their strength to make changes. Very specific interventions help to relate to clients in this way and to mobilize the health in each person to overcome unconscious self-sabotage. This approach addresses attachment, anxiety, and avoidance and helps the client clear the way for themselves to explore their experience deeply and fully such that they have good information for themselves and feel the strength, clarity, and motivation to pursue their life goals. ISTDP is comprised of a set of powerful interventions which are outlined in this course.

This course through Mindful ISTDP is approved by the NASW-Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative.
