The WA Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) and School's Out Washington (SOWA) are working together to implement a recommendation process for improving and updating the School-Age Only Child Care regulations (WAC 110-305) also known as Washington Administrative Codes (WACs). The intent is to improve these regulations so that they reflect best-practices for working with school-age children, support quality learning environments, and align with the business of school-age child care. At the end of this work, School’s Out Washington will deliver a set of recommended updates to the School-Age Child Care regulation codes.

This short-form stakeholder survey is an opportunity for parents, guardians, school and school district staff, funders, and other community stakeholders to weigh in on the challenges and opportunities regarding School-Age Only Licensed Child Care. The information you provide will be treated in a private manner. We will only report aggregate findings from this survey and not will not report individual responses.

NOTE: The recommendations will only focus on School-Age Only Child Care licensing under Chapter 110-305 of the Washington Administrative Code. This will not impact any other types of licensing or programs eligible to participate in Early Achievers such as early learning/pre-kindergarten/birth-5 years old child care, family homes, or 0 - age 12 child care centers.
