Ventura Port District

On October 6, 2021, the Board of Port Commissioners received a presentation from Associated Transportation Engineers (ATE) regarding the Ventura Harbor Summer 2021 Traffic and Parking Surveys. ATE has provided traffic counts and parking surveys in the summers of 2012, 2015, 2018 and most recently in 2021. The data collected has been used to evaluate the volumes of vehicle traffic moving through the Harbor at strategic points and determining demand for parking primarily at Harbor Village, hotels, beaches and adjacent marinas during the summer peak season.

Due to continued high demand during peak periods, a recommendation of the report is to consider the use of paid parking to increase vehicle turnover in the Harbor Village parking lots.

In follow up to that presentation, the Ventura Port District is seeking input from stakeholders regarding the possibility of implementing paid parking in order to identify concerns, receive public suggestions, and in the general interest of transparency.

The results of the survey will be presented to the Board of Port Commissioners during a public meeting on January 6th starting at 7 PM.  All participants in the survey will receive a notification of how to participate in the meeting no later than December 30th.

Please respond to the survey questions below before December 20, 2021.
