The Safe Routes to School COVID-19 Response Grant is a competitive grant that awards funds up to $1,000 to nonprofit organizations, Seattle schools, and school-oriented community organizations to provide the services and/or resources necessary to help students stay active and healthy. These grants can be used to fund a variety of projects, including:

The Safe Routes to School Program has allocated $15,000 towards a Safe Routes to School COVID-19 Response Grant, with the potential to award additional funding if additional applications are received and budget allows. SDOT encourages Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) led community based organizations to apply.
