We are thrilled to open the registration for Cohort 4 of the SPs in a POD mentorship program for the 2026-27 academic year! SPs in a POD follows a manual matching process that occurs once per year for all interested mentors and mentees.
Fun Fact:
A pea pod is the part of the pea plant that surrounds the growing peas. In the field of school psychology, there are many times when we work in isolation but thrive in collaborative and supportive environments where we gain insight and bounce ideas off one another. SPs in a POD serve as a symbolic place for practicing and future school psychologists to have a designated safe space to harvest their knowledge and mental capacity to grow their careers and blossom.
By completing this form, this allows for TASP membership committee to understand your current interest, career goals and/or areas of need as a student and early career professional in order to create a "POD" with like-minded individuals. The information shared related to either your expertise as a mentor or areas that you would like more information in as a mentee will be shared as a apart of your POD bio along with your strengths and core values. All of information shared on this form will not be disclosed to your mentor/mentee.
Some important reminders about SPs in a POD:
- SPs in a POD is available exclusively to TASP members. To participate, you must maintain an active membership during the 2026-27 academic year to continue.
- Mentoring sessions are required to occur at a of minimum twice per semester (excludes introductory meeting) for approximately one-hour. The format of meeting can be either in-person, phone or virtual.
- This mentorship relationship will begin in September 2026 and continue until July 2027. Meetings can occur after the end date if agreed upon by both parties.
- Both mentors and mentees are eligible to receive one-hour of free CPD credit by attending the Virtual Mentor Roundtable in Spring/Summer 2027.
- For those that hold the NCSP credential with NASP are eligible to claim CPD Credit under categories E and F of the CPD guidelines by completing and submitting the Professional Support Verification Form.
- This is an double benefit for early career professionals renewing their NCSP for the first time as this is a required form for the initial renewal.
