Help Shape the Future of the South Hammond Area! The City of Hammond is developing a South Hammond Station Neighborhood Plan—a long-term guide for community building projects and investment in the area surrounding the upcoming South Hammond Station and West Lake Corridor (to be known as the Monon Corridor when it opens later this year). This is not a plan for the train service or station itself. Instead, it's about protecting the neighborhood’s strengths, preparing for the future, and making sure South Hammond continues to thrive.
We need your help in identifying:
- Existing strengths that should be preserved.
- Opportunities to make the community stronger.
- Issues and challenges facing the area.
This survey should take approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Your responses, along with feedback from in-person events and data analysis, will help shape the plan’s vision, goals, and recommendations.
The study area for this project (shown in the map below) includes the area bounded by:
- 165th Street to the north
- Calumet Avenue to the east
- Little Calumet River to the south
- Indiana/Illinois state line to the west
This survey is open to everyone, not just residents of the area. All questions are optional; if you do not wish to answer a particular question, feel free to skip it. Thank you in advance for your time and we look forward to hearing your ideas!
