This award recognizes service by groups and individuals aged 18 and under, who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the community through direct financial support, development of charitable programs, volunteering, or leadership in philanthropy.

Use this form for both the group and individual William R. Simms Awards. Select 'group' on question 5 if applying on behalf of a group. Select 'individual' if applying on behalf of an individual. You'll be taken to a second page to enter the nominee's information.

The deadline to submit nominations is December 18, 2026.

Eligibility & Judging Factors
The nominee(s) must meet the following criteria to be considered for the award:
  • The nominee(s) must be 18 or younger on the date nominations are due: December 18, 2026
Nominees will be considered for the award based on the responses to the criteria in the nomination form below.

1.Description in detail of what the nominee did, including goals, process, budget (if relevant) and other people involved in the process (adult leaders or adviser, etc.) and of the time, talent and/or treasure the youth gave for the common good and the results that were achieved. (40 points)(Required.)
2.Description of the impact the nominee had on the community, including numbers of people involved, financial impact, organizations helped, etc. Please include the names and contact information of individuals at the organizations who benefited from the nominee’s work. (30 points)(Required.)
3.Long term (3-5 years) impact of the nominee’s work. Will the project(s) be ongoing and has the nominee considered next steps or is working on other projects? (20 points)(Required.)
4.Evidence that the project(s) can serve as a prototype for others or is easily replicable in other communities. (10 points)(Required.)
