About This Survey.

With support from the Office on Violence Against Women, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice (OVW), FORGE -- a national training and technical assistance provider focusing on the intersections of transgender populations and victimization – is conducting a National Baseline Assessment of Shelters on Serving Transgender Survivors.

We are seeking responses from a wide range of agencies who provide emergency shelter and temporary or transitional housing to individuals/families who have experienced domestic violence, intimate partner violence, partner abuse, or other intimate crimes.

The purpose of this assessment is to examine how shelters are currently serving transgender and non-binary survivors, begin to identify best practices, and determine where programs may need additional support to integrate transgender survivors into their housing programs.

We welcome multiple responses from individual agencies, recognizing that individuals may have unique perspectives, roles and knowledge.  We also encourage you to forward this survey to other professionals or agencies who provide shelter or housing to intimate partner violence survivors.

Reported results of this survey will not disclose any individual or agency’s name, or denote any identifying information about an individual or agency respondent. Results will highlight trends, needs, recommendations, and directions for further examination.

Survey deadline.
Please respond before November 15, 2016.

About FORGE.
FORGE is a national transgender anti-violence organization, founded in 1994. Since 2009, we have been federally funded to provide direct services to transgender, gender non-conforming and gender non-binary survivors of sexual assault.

Since 2011, FORGE has served as the only transgender-focused organization federally funded to provide training and technical assistance to providers across the country who work with transgender survivors of sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, and stalking. Our role as a technical assistance provider has allowed us to directly see key continued and emerging challenges many agencies are experiencing in serving survivors of all genders.

We have a long history of crafting dynamic in-person, remote-access, and print-based training materials in ways that are highly accessible to many types of victim service providers, as well as to many learning levels and styles.
