kNOw Workplace Cancer

Thanks for thinking about sharing your personal experience of having a cancer caused by work.

Hearing real life stories may encourage people to get any symptoms checked out with their doctor, participate in the screening they’d been putting off, and highlight the importance of early detection and the need to have control measures in the workplace.

Overall you would be supporting our work to beat cancer every day, in every way, and save more lives.

You may:
     • Be an occupational cancer survivor
     • Be caring for someone who has a cancer caused by work
     • Have lost a close relative to a cancer caused by work

Some ways you might like to be involved include:
     • Appearing in the media
     • Featuring on one of our websites
     • Taking part in an advertising campaign
     • Participating in a photo shoot

The most important thing is that you are prepared to talk openly about your cancer experience. In most cases you will need to share your name, town, age and story along with a recent photograph. We suggest you speak with members of your family about this to make sure they are comfortable with this.

We will never use your story without first speaking with you and gaining permission. We will treat your information confidentially and will never pass on your details to a third party. You always have the choice to say no if you wish.

Please fill out this form with as much detail as possible and we look forward to speaking with you soon. If you have any questions please contact Melissa Ledger at workplacecancer@cancerwa.asn.au.
