Colorado Nonprofit Association has a reputation for offering topnotch, quality trainings for nonprofit professionals across the state. Trainings are designed to deliver relevant, topical and practical tools and information to the nonprofit sector. Attendees may include nonprofit staff, board members, business members, volunteers and others engaged with the nonprofit sector. Trainings may be partial, half, or full day sessions and will be marketed by the Association to its members. Educational sessions may take place at the Association’s training center in Denver, or off-site in another part of the state.

We are looking for individuals and organizations to offer insightful sessions to our members that will help them grow in their careers. Last year, there were over 2,000 attendees who attended our trainings. Being a facilitator gives you the opportunity to give back to a community who values volunteerism, connect with nonprofit professionals and showcase your expertise.

As a facilitator, you will:

  • Prepare and facilitate an engaging workshop on the topic you proposed.
  • Provide tools and resources appropriate for attendees.
  • Promote your session to your network as appropriate.

The Association will:

  • Contact you 45 to 60 days prior to the proposed training date to coordinate.
  • Provide the opportunity to meet, network, and share your expertise with nonprofit professionals who want to learn about your topic.
  • Market your name, organization and session to our nonprofit community through various Association mediums such as mailings, listserv, social media and website.
  • Include your name and business on the session marketing materials.

Submission Deadlines:

  • Winter Call for Presenters: Nov. 1 – Dec. 18
  • Spring Call for Presenters: July 11 – August 31
  • Fall Conference Call for Presenters: April – May 13

Topics & Selection:

The Association's education programs cover a myriad of topics that are relevant to our State's nonprofit professional community. While there is no exhaustive list of sessions we would like to offer, the following guidelines help us select appropriate content for our community members.
  • Is the topic relevant to the nonprofit sector? Will it be of interest to today's nonprofit workforce, board members and volunteers?
  • What unique perspective or expertise will this topic and presenter(s) provide?
  • Is the topic's focus clear and well defined?
  • Will attendees feel that they learned what they came to learn?
  • Will attendees feel that they have learned real world information that they can put to use right away?
  • Is the topic timely? Is there an immediate need for this type of training?
  • Is this topic appropriate for beginners or advanced practitioners?

We also ask that you categorize your presentation into one of the key areas:

  • Advocacy
  • Information & Technology
  • Governance/Board
  • Communications & Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • Evaluation
  • Financial Management
  • Fund Development
  • Planning
  • Strategic Alliances & Collaboration
  • Leadership
  • Professional Development
  • Cultural Competence

Please see our online training calendar for a description of upcoming sessions.
