DSAMT Self-Advocate of the Year

DSAMT's Self-Advocate of the Year Award was created to recognize and honor an individual with Down syndrome age 16 or older who through their everyday living and activities is a role model for others and exemplifies the values of DSAMT.  The Self-Advocate of the Year receives a plaque at our annual 3.21 World Down Syndrome Awareness Celebration and is a spokesperson for DSAMT throughout the year, participating in numerous engagements and advocacy events.  They and a parent/caregiver will also attend the NDSS Buddy Walk on Washington with DSAMT to meet legislators and advocate for legislation that specifically impacts individuals with Down syndrome.

To nominate your candidate please complete the questions below before February 15th each year. Nominations will be reviewed by the Board of Directors of DSAMT, and the winner will be notified and recognized at the annual 3.21 World Down Syndrome Day Celebration.
