Fundraisers are called on to make ethical decisions every week (if not every day). Not only do school fundraisers face the same ethical challenges as do their peers in mainstream charities, they also face a raft of ethical issues that are particular to working for an educational institution.

This study aims to find out how you go about ethical decision making, the types of ethical dilemmas you encounter, and what helps or hinders you in making decisions.

Ethics is a complex and sophisticated subject. The questions in this survey reflect the nuance required to fully get to grips with professional ethics, and so may take a bit of time and thinking to answer.

But this is an important issue, and we are keen to get as much rich data from you as we can, and we are sure, as Fundraising/Development/Advancement professionals, you’ll welcome the chance to get your teeth into this topic.

There are nine questions in the main body of the survey followed by some questions about you and your school. We reckon it’ll take you 15-20 minutes to complete this, so you might want to grab a cup of coffee and a biscuit (or two).

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Giving Architects and Precision Fundraising for funding this project and making it possible, and to Educate Plus for providing a platform for this research.
