2026 Safety+ Symposium Call for Thought Leadership

Take Safety Culture to the Next Level at Safety+

VPPPA's Safety+ 2026 will be in Nashville, TN on August 30th - September 2nd.

Safety+ is the only national event that supports safety professionals across all career stages, from the frontline to the C-Suite. At the heart of Safety+ is the power of continuous improvement, and one of the ways we enable our attendees to experience that power firsthand is by offering exceptional education throughout the event.

All presentation proposals will be reviewed and selected through an anonymous scoring process. For the 2026 event, we have identified the topic areas of interest listed below, but we welcome any topic you believe would be a good fit for our audience.

- Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Safety and Health Management Systems (SHMS) Success Stories or Lessons Learned
- Employee Engagement and Safety Culture
- Safety Leadership
- Construction Safety

What Makes a Winning Proposal?
Due to the limited number of available sessions, even submissions that score well may not be able to be accepted to present this year. To give your proposal the strongest chance, below are some tips to keep in mind.
  • Learning objectives should follow the SMART framework, and be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. See our guide and examples here.
  • Consider who will benefit most from your presentation, and in what ways they will benefit.
  • Only proposals submitted through the portal by the deadline Tuesday, December 9, 2025 will be considered. Proposals must be complete at the time of submission.
  • You are welcome to submit as many proposals as you'd like, however due to the limited amount of speaking opportunities, we must limit the number of sessions presented by a single speaker.
