Data centers are secure facilities that store, process, and manage the digital information that powers the internet and many of the online services we use every day, from streaming videos and online banking to healthcare, business operations, and artificial intelligence. As demand for these services grows, more data centers are being proposed across Texas, including in San Antonio.
While these facilities support technology and economic development, they also raise important community questions about water use, energy demand, land use, infrastructure, environmental impacts, and local benefits.
The Office of Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran (San Antonio City Council District 3), in partnership with Dr. Bassel Daher of Texas A&M University, invites you to share your perspective.
This anonymous survey takes approximately 3-5 minutes to complete.
Your responses will help identify community priorities, concerns, and expectations related to future data center development in San Antonio.
This survey will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 31.
Thank you for taking the time to participate. Your voice matters!
