Professional recognition

The Media Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) is a statutory body established in terms of the Skills Development Act to implement National Skills Development Objectives.  The MICT SETA has expressed the need to provide freelancers in the film, television, broadcast and audio-visual sector with an opportunity to earn a professional designation related to their field of competence.

This opportunity is only open to South African citizens with valid SA identity documents, and whilst the first batch of nominees to be assessed will be Gauteng-based, individuals from other provinces will be invited to apply for assessment during the year ahead. After feedback gathered during this year's Mediatech show we have decided to extend the submission deadline till Friday 30 August 2019. Applications that do not meet the requirements or that have missing information, will automatically be disqualified. If you do not hear from SACIA by 14 September 2019, consider your application unsuccessful.

Before completing this form, please download and read the SACIA Member's Handbook to determine which of our designations is most relevant to you. Download at http://www.sacia.org.za/docs/handbooks/SACIA-Generic-Handbook-for-Members.pdf

Queries may be directed in writing to MICT2019@sacia.org.za – Please note that questions will be ignored if the answer is on the SACIA website or stated in the SACIA Member’s Handbook.
