Responsible Use of AI in Research & Publishing

Last year, we ran our first survey on AI use in research and publishing and you can find the report here:
https://www.enago.com/academy/global-survey-report/

A lot has changed since then — new tools, updated policies, and sharper debates around disclosure and oversight. This second wave returns to the same core questions to track what has shifted, what hasn't, and where the gaps remain.

Whether this is your first time or you participated before, your responses help build a running evidence base that reflects how researchers, editors, and reviewers are actually navigating AI in practice — and helps shape more practical, fair, and transparent norms as a result.

What this survey explores
Seven connected themes: how AI use is shifting in research workflows; how effective the tools actually are; what concerns researchers most; how AI-assisted work is checked before submission; whether journal, publisher, and funder policies are getting clearer; how disclosure is working in practice; and where researchers see this heading.

How the findings will be used
Responses are analyzed only in aggregate. Findings may appear in research reports, conference presentations, and educational resources, and will be shared openly with the research community. No individual respondent will be identified or attributed.

Your participation & privacy
Voluntary, approximately 10 minutes. You may skip any question or stop at any time. Answers are stored securely and separated from identifying details. Name and email are optional, provided only if you'd like to receive the results and are never published.
