Description

The CACFP Roundtable announces its Call for Presentations for the 2024 Annual CACFP Conference. You are invited to submit a presentation proposal for a workshop session that addresses the important training needs of our CACFP community.

Here's what you can expect:
  • The conference will be held at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City, CA -- next to Univeral Studios Hollywood.
  • We will have a whole team available to support you day-of with any video and audio needs.
  • Sessions will be 60 minutes or 90 minutes long.
  • And we promise a lot of fun and time to tend to our collective and individual needs.
  • Registration and room rates can be found here.
Your presentation should provide the following:
  • Relevance and Clarity: The content is aligned with our 2024 conference tracks, interesting, and useful to our expected attendees. Learning objectives should be clearly stated and describe how the presentation will support attendees' learning and growth.
  • Tailored for the Audience: CACFP is a program that operates in child care centers, family child care homes, adult services facilities, afterschool programs, and emergency shelters. There are also nonprofits that support these programs. How these individuals work and implement their Food Programs varies greatly. Please tailor your presentation for the audience you are trying to reach, by including specific examples and content, when appropriate, that will help your intended audience put your presentation into practice.
  • Engaging Format: Involves the audience, stimulates dialogue, and is consistent with the principles of effective adult learning.
  • Practical Application or Thought-Provoking: Presentations should provide take-away knowledge that can be used by attendees in their day-to-day work, describe how ideas and methods can be transferred for use by others, offer how-to skills to improve performance; or reflects research and/or practical experience that is innovative and well-grounded.
Additional Information
  • Audience: Attendees typically include professional child care, afterschool, adult care, and emergency shelter CACFP operators -- sponsors, directors, monitors, educators, and food service professionals; local, State and Federal level policy-makers, administrators, and leaders; advocates, researchers, trainers and others who support the CACFP.
  • Presenter Registration: Presenters are encouraged to register and participate in the entire conference, but are not required to register. Lead presenters + up to 2 co-presenters will be offered $100 off currently available registration rates.
  • Honorarium: CACFP Roundtable does not award workshop presenters an honorarium.
  • Presenter Responsibilities: Presenters are responsible for timely communication with the conference planning team and adequate preparation of their presentations. The CACFP Roundtable is promoting eco-friendly options and all handouts and all presentation materials are required to be shared digitally.
CACFP Roundtable reserves the right to make changes to proposed presentation titles and descriptions, to place sessions in alternative tracks, and to encourage joint presentations if multiple proposals are submitted on similar topics
