STEM Conference 2021 Request for Proposals |
Theme: Spotlight on STEM, STEAM, STREAM - Exploring Today's Mindset.
STEM Conference 2021 will take place as as live, in-person event on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 on the campus at the University of Cincinnati at Tangeman Center. As our theme Spotlight on STEM, STEAM, STREAM - Exploring Today's Mindset, suggests, the intent is to feature educators who've kept STEM, STEAM, and STREAM instruction in the forefront despite the many instructional challenges confronted during the pandemic. This request for proposals calls for submission of 2 types of presentations: First -the effective tried and true STEM, STEAM, STREAM Instructional Programs and Strategies that you have use over the last year that will encourage attendees to integrate these ideas into their own best practicies and Second - Interactive Workshops that will engage our conference attendees in labs, projects, or activities that you've conducted with your own students. (Details below.) Proposal submission deadline is Monday, September 27th, 2021.
STEM, STEAM, and/or STREAM, Instructional Programs and Strategies (60 minutes - including 10 minutes for Q&A and evaluations)
Share with us the STEM/ STEAM/ STREAM lessons or programs that you have implemented over the last year. In particular, we are seeking examples which involved teaming with the Language Arts, Social Studies,Technology, or Art teachers and/or have utilized Google docs or Google Hangout for student collaboration. It may have a virtual component as well. Identify how this project or lesson succesfully included other disciplines and met multiple learning objectives. We encourage you to submit proposals that demonstrate how you have presented effective STEM/ STEAM/ STREAM instruction inspite of the pandemic related obstacles.
Interactive Workshops (60 minutes - including 10 minutes for Q&A and evaluations)
We are looking for very creative Interactive Workshops STEM, STEAM, STREAM proposals that replicate student collaboration and allow for some level of interaction among conference participants. Taking into consideration that having hands-on presentations are still a high priority for attendees, please submit proposals that focus on student collaboration and interaction and might still include team teaching with other disciplines and, of course, involve effective STEM pedagogies such as PBL, CBL, Phenomena, Makerspace, Coding, Robotics, EDP, and/or STEM+H.

Registration - opens on May 17th. All presenters and co-presenters must register for the conference.
- Early Bird - $85 until September 1st: up to 6 contact hrs, breakfast, lunch, parking, and give-away.
- Regular Registration - $100 from September 2nd on: up to 6 contact hrs, breakfast, lunch, parking, and give-away.
- Pre-service Teachers - $65/each: up to 6 contact hrs, breakfast, lunch, parking, and give-away.
- Group Rate – $85/each for 5 or more teachers: up to 6 contact hrs, breakfast, lunch, parking, and give-away.
