RevolutionNJ (www.revnj.org), a partnership between the New Jersey Historical Commission and the nonprofit Crossroads of the American Revolution Association, is New Jersey’s official commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States in 2026. As we approach July 4, 2026, we are developing several programs and initiatives to bring New Jersey residents from all walks of life into the commemoration.

One of these initiatives is a community-based public arts program that ties together the rich cultural history of our state with the imagination and community impact of public art. Working closely with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the nationally renowned public art and research studio, Monument Lab (https://monumentlab.com/), we will partner with New Jersey-based artists, historic sites, organizations, and municipalities to create temporary public art installations throughout the state that engage community members with the complexity of history.

With funding from RevolutionNJ, and added supports from Monument Lab and project partners, selected applicants would engage with the artist and the communities through this work.  We are currently in the planning phase of developing this initiative, and want to gauge the interest of sites, organizations, and municipalities around the state to host a temporary installation.

If this sounds like something your organization wants to be part of, please fill out the survey below.

Note: this survey is not an official application to the RevolutionNJ Public Arts program. It is only a declaration of interest to help us better develop a project proposal.
