Hardee County is seeking community input to determine the future of the former Resthaven property in Zolfo Springs. The 5-acre property is located at 298 Rest Haven Rd, Zolfo Springs, FL 33890.

Despite serving the local community for many years, Resthaven closed its doors at the end of 2022 after facing significant financial challenges. Attempts to recruit new operators to take over the county-owned property were unsuccessful, largely due to the substantial cost of much-needed repairs and upgrades. As a result, local officials have begun a review process to explore potential options, which may include selling the property.

The County-owned property has a 2025 Market Value of $1,380,045, and necessary repairs to utilize the property are estimated at $1.5 million or more.
