Monday, November 19 from 2 p.m. -  4 p.m.
Victoria City Hall- Antechamber

The City of Victoria invites all restaurants, food delivery services, related suppliers and organizations to attend a collaborative session about Victoria’s Checkout Bag Regulation Bylaw.

After two phases of stakeholder engagement (2016-2017), business outreach and a community awareness campaign in early 2018, Victoria’s Checkout Bag Regulation Bylaw came into effect on July 1.

This summer, businesses from across the City and beyond embraced the change by phasing out plastic bags and charging for paper and reusable bags. Businesses were given six months to use up their existing stock of non-compliant checkout bags.

This session is part of the City’s ongoing effort to work with business to support their transition away from single-use checkout bags.

Please join us for a workshop to explore restaurant-specific challenges and solutions to moving away from single-use checkout bags.  This will be an opportunity for restaurants to exchange ideas and learn from restaurant peers and suppliers.
