* 4. Over the last year, Gov. Malloy has talked about improving our state's transportation grid through his 30-year, $100 billion Let's Go CT! initiative. A panel was created to recommend ways to generate Special Transportation Fund revenue to pay for some of the governor's "key preservation and repair projects." 

Among the Governor's Transportation Finance Panel revenue options:

  Great idea. Maybe, worth discussion. Bad idea, no.
Increase Department of Motor Vehicles fees.
Increase the 25 cents per gallon gasoline tax to 39 cents over a seven year period.
Increase the 6.35% sales tax to 6.85% and transfer the increment to the Special Transportation Fund.

* 5. There's talk about creating a Constitutionally-protected lock box to block the legislature from raiding transportation money to balance the budget. Would you support that proposal if it came without specifics defining where the money would come from, what money would go into the lock box, and how it would be used?
