Partner commitment and accountability: your priorities during uncertain times

Our last Remuneration Survey took place as many law firms were experiencing the so-called "golden years" during Covid. Many lawyers were exceptionally busy and some firms experienced increased work and profitability.

The 2023 survey is taking place during times of increasing geopolitical and economic uncertainty. Looking forward, how can we find the right measures by which to calculate and fairly reward the different contribution of our partners?  How do we encourage team-work, collaboration and cross selling? What is more important, annual income or investing in the longer-term success and viability of the firm? Above all, during uncertain times, how are we ensuring the commitment and accountability of our partners to deliver what is required?

This research survey examines the pros and cons of the various remuneration systems and how to balance appropriate rewards for partners with the creation of a culture which supports the objectives of the firm. The analysis and final outputs will be presented during the IBA Annual Conference in Paris.
The survey will take around 20 minutes to complete. Your responses will be confidential, you do not have to tell us your name or the name of your firm, and the results will be anonymised in the final report
As a thank you for your participation, we would be happy to send you an Executive Summary of the results if you tick the box at the end of the survey.

Many thanks in advance for supporting this important project.
