Learning Objectives:
• Identify the importance of Primary Care management in optimal assessment and intervention prior to referral and how important this is to patient quality of life, disease trajectory and healthcare system burden
• Discuss the advantage of early intervention prior to frequent exacerbations and lung function decline
• Review COPD from an all-cause mortality perspective and why this is an important treatment goal, in addition to goals oriented around QOL, symptom reduction and exacerbation reduction
• Recognize the success of the Best Care program and how this is helping achieve relevant clinical outcomes
