Welcome!  The Reform Party chooses its candidate for President through a process that includes:

1) Selecting delegates at State Conventions throughout 2016 and
2) Nomination at a National Convention by state delegates in the summer of 2016.

At this time, the Reform Party has three declared candidates for the presidential nomination.  There are other people who are being "drafted" to run as candidates by Reform Party members, but have not declared themselves as candidates for the Reform Party nomination.

This internal poll is to gauge Reform Party member support for any of these candidates for President, as well as willingness to serve as a delegate at the nominating convention.

DRAFT EFFORTS

At this time, there are movements to draft the following independent candidates for the Reform Party nomination:

Senator Jim Webb (Draft Effort) - Senator Webb has focused throughout his political career on how to prioritize our federal government’s spending.  He sees the challenges facing our urban poor, blacks and other minorities. What’s more, he has not forgotten poor whites in the south and rural America or our elderly.  He has served as counsel to the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs, and Secretary of the Navy.  As U.S. Senator from Virginia, Webb talked about prison reform, economic fairness and helping our veterans and has written and passed legislation supporting these goals.

Webb has talked repeatedly about combating special interest groups in Washington, and getting our federal policy-makers to focus on good governance. For Webb, it is not a matter of ideology, party politics or meeting the needs of special interests, but delivering a government that works for the people.  In foreign policy, Jim Webb knew the dangers of an invasion of Iraq. His analysis and the predictions that he made several months before the invasion of a future in Iraq fraught with rising sectarian violence and terrorism, have been validated by today’s reality.  Draft Website http://www.draftwebb2016.com

Professor Lawrence Lessig (Draft Effort) - Lawrence Lessig is a law professor and activist who worked across eastern and central Europe to understand and then help with the transition away from communism and helped build the field of Internet law. He co-founded Creative Commons, which gives artists and authors free tools to share their creativity widely on their own terms.  He founded what became Rootstrikers and was a founder of the New Hampshire Rebellion.  Larry is running as an independent candidate for president. The focus of his campaign platform is to bring to light the issue of campaign finance reform, and he proposes a step by step plan to remove the corrupting influence of money in politics from day one.  Campaign Website:  https://lessig2016.us
