2026/27 - Reading Schools funding application

How to Apply

Learner-led applications are being invited from in-progress Reading Schools to support their plans to embed a culture of reading for pleasure across the school.

Eligibility: State funded schools and grant-aided specialist provisions that are working on Reading Schools accreditation through an approved Action Plan, who have not received Reading Schools funding in the last three years. This Fund is not open to Pilot Early Learning and Childcare settings.
Purpose: Purchase of books & reading materials, and/or furnishings for reading spaces
Deadline:Thursday 29 October 2026
Maximum available per school: £500
This fund aims to allocate awards to 40 successful applications.

This form is comprised of three sections. The sections are:
1. Key information about your school
2. Upload/link the funding submission from your Reading Leadership Group (pupil-led)
3. Supporting strategic information completed by the Key Contact

Note: your application will not be considered for funding until "Done" is selected after the third section of this Form. You can edit your responses before 29 October 2026, or up until you confirm "Done" to submit the application.

This is the member of staff making the application, who agrees to take responsibility for managing funds should application be successful. This should be a registered user on your Reading Schools application, but does not have to be your Lead Contact.
