The Broadband Consortium of the Pacific Coast, a collaborative focused on improving broadband throughout San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, requests your assistance to gain a better understanding of broadband (high-speed internet) needs and opportunities for business, education, health and safety and private residential uses.


Your responses will assist in the following ways:

• Establish geographical areas with the greatest potential;
• Assist in identifying and prioritizing investment in infrastructure;
• Support funding requests and grant proposals;
• Inform program development to enhance adoption of broadband.

Your input is appreciated, and will be used solely for the identified purposes.

DEFINITION OF BROADBAND
For the purposes of this survey and the Consortium activities, Broadband is defined as 6 Mbps or greater download speeds and 1.5 Mbps or greater upload speeds, as defined by the California Public Utilities Commission.


A. CPUC BROADBAND AVAILABILITY SURVEY

The California Utilities Commission is conducting outreach to the public throughout the State, related to homes and businesses, to help populate, or correct, the broadband information on the California Interactive Broadband Map.
