INTRODUCTION

Elections for the positions of President and Vice President of World Physiotherapy for a two and/or four-year term beginning on 1st July 2027 will be held during the 21st General Meeting in Guadalajara, Mexico on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th May 2027.

Thank you for your interest in standing for one of these positions. Please ensure that you have read the Candidate Information Pack thoroughly before submitting the required documents.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible to stand for President or Vice President, candidates must:
  • be physiotherapists.
  • be a member of a World Physiotherapy member organisation that is entitled to nominate and vote.
  • Have served for a period of at least two years on the governing body of a World Physiotherapy membership organisation.
  • Have their nomination supported by at least two member organisations, one of which must be the nominee’s own member organisation.
You will need to upload the following documents:
  • A signed declaration form
  • A signed nomination form
  • Candidate statement form (providing a statement of no more than 1,000 words)
  • Curriculum vitae (no more than two sides of A4)
  • A recent head and shoulders photograph suitable for publication and distribution to World Physiotherapy member organisations (supplied in PNG format and 350 dpi minimum).
The deadline for submitting your nomination documents is 11:59 (UTC) on Thursday 12 November 2026.
